Marc Lawrence is a New York-based Producer/Musician/Mastering Engineer best known in the world of hip-hop and reggae music.

With evitaN, the hip-hop duo featuring Jarobi of A Tribe Called Quest and Dres of Black Sheep, Marc played guitar and bass, produced tracks and mastered their critically acclaimed debut album, Speed of Life

As a mastering engineer, Marc’s album credits also include Black Sheep’s From The Black Pool of Genius and Steel Pulse saxophonist Jerry Johnson’s collaboration with the late great Sugar Minott. In 2006, Marc and childhood friend Brett Smith joined forces to form Walkup Records and signed reggae legend, Bigga Haitian, who is known as the first Haitian singer to break into the Jamaican reggae scene. They co-produced and released Bigga’s latest album, Sak Pasé, to high praise throughout the industry. The album opener, “I Am A Haitian,” co-written by Marc, has been in rotation on Sirius/XM Radio since its release. The album also includes a cover of the White Stripes’ “My Doorbell,” which has been applauded by industry giants such as QuestloveDJ Z-Trip, and Nardwuar, who called it “better than the original!” 

Marc’s career started with an internship working for Barry Bongiovi at Right Track Recording. On the business side, he has held positions at MTV NetworksVH1YouTube, Sony MusicAMC NetworkseMusic.comThe Bowery PresentsDC Entertainment/Warner Bros., and Rowe International/AMI Entertainment, the world’s leading manufacturer of jukeboxes. He is a Grammy voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
